Masjid Suffah is a non-profit religious organization established in 2015 to provide a place of worship for Muslims residing in and around Kennesaw.

Masjid Suffah is named after the Ashab al-Suffah — the People of the Porch — a group of companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who devoted their lives to studying Islam at the feet of the Prophet. At Masjid Suffah, we hope to revive that spirit through education, cultivation, and service.

Masjid Suffah rented an office space at a strip mall behind Publix in Kennesaw in 2015. As the Muslim community grew rapidly, a second unit was rented to double the space. The community worshipped at that location until the final Asr Salah at 6:30 PM on March 30, 2023.

The construction of the current masjid was more than a building project — it was a shared mission. Community members contributed generously with their wealth, time, skills, and resources. Alhamdulillah, the first prayer at the new location was Maghrib Salah on March 30, 2023, in the blessed month of Ramadan.

As the community grew, so did the need for Islamic education. The masjid expanded its programs to include:

• Maktab classes for children
• Hifz (Qur'an memorisation) program
• Men's Adult Qur'an Class
• Sisters' Monthly Halaqa
• Story of the Prophets for children and adults
• Youth mentorship and activities
• Guest lectures and seminars

Beyond prayer, the masjid has become a place where families find support, friendship, and belonging. Over the years it has hosted Nikkah ceremonies, community Iftars, Eid celebrations, charity drives, and much more.

Today, Masjid Suffah remains committed to preserving Islamic values, serving the spiritual and social needs of the community, and providing a welcoming space for worship and learning for every member of the family.

As we plan for the future, our vision includes expanding educational programs, enhancing youth and family services, launching a community medical clinic, and establishing a monthly food drive to serve those in need.
